Two From Three Face Cardiff Exit

THE battle to avoid elimination from the Betway Premier League on Judgement Night sees Michael Smith, Dave Chisnall and Robert Thornton fighting for their survival in the tournament.

Following Thursday's Judgement Night, the bottom two players in the Betway Premier League table will be eliminated, with the stars having faced each other once apiece over the past two months.

Three players remain in the midst of the elimination battle, with Thornton's brilliant night in Liverpool, where he defeated Smith and then drew with Michael van Gerwen, moving him off the foot of the table for the first time this season.

He now sits a point ahead of both Smith and Chisnall going into Judgement Night, meaning that the St Helens-born duo know that they must take something from their clashes with Phil Taylor and Peter Wright respectively.

Thornton then takes on Adrian Lewis, knowing that he could be safe going into the contest or might need a victory to keep alive his hopes of staying in the tournament.
