Jesus Noguera proved to be the surprise package on Friday night as the Spaniard won Unibet Home Tour Group 22.
The lowest ranked player in the group, Noguera began the night with a shock 5-3 victory over world number ten Ian White, thanks to superior accuracy on the doubles.
Noguera, who won his PDC Tour Card for the first time in January through via the 2019 Challenge Tour, made it back-to-back wins as he defeated James Wilson 5-2.
Although Noguera went down 5-2 to Dutchman Danny Noppert in the penultimate game of the night, Noppert failed to win by the four-leg margin he needed to stay in the hunt to top the group.
White needed to win his last game of the night against James Wilson by 5-3 or better, but he fell just short which meant Noguera ended the night on top.
The Unibet Home Tour continues on Saturday night with Group 23, which will see Australian World Cup star Kyle Anderson in action.
