Ryder Secures Perth Place

LOZ RYDER has earned a spot in August's TABtouch Perth Darts Masters through the DPA Australian Grand Prix Order of Merit.

Ryder's successes on the DartPlayers Australia circuit so far this year saw him top the standings following last weekend's Australian Grand Prix double-header in Melbourne.

The Perth-based star will now join Simon Whitlock, Paul Nicholson and Kyle Anderson as an invited player for this year's World Series of Darts event at the HBF Stadium, which will be held from August 14-16.

British-born Ryder also competed in last year's inaugural TABtouch Perth Darts Masters, losing out to Raymond van Barneveld, and qualified for the Sydney Darts Masters, where Peter Wright knocked him out.

He went on to reach the second round on his Alexandra Palace debut at the William Hill World Championship, defeating Justin Pipe before suffering defeat to Terry Jenkins.

The remaining four places in the tournament will be taken by one DPNZ qualifier from New Zealand, one DOSH (Darts of the Southern Hemisphere) Representative and two players to come through Qualifiers to be held at the Rendezvous Hotel in Scarborough on August 8-9.

The DPNZ Qualifier will be held in Wellington next weekend, with the 16-man DOSH Qualifier to take place in mid-July.
