Peter Wright has predicted more nine-darters to be landed in the Unibet Premier League after he achieved perfection for the first time in a televised game on Saturday.
The World Champion landed his maiden TV nine-darter in the 11th leg of his tie with Daryl Gurney - two days after missing double 12 to achieve the feat against the same opponent in Milton Keynes!
Gurney was also on the receiving end of a nine-darter earlier this season against Michael Smith in Dublin, and with a £50,000 bonus on offer from sponsors Unibet for any player to achieve two perfect legs during the season, Wright is predicting more big-stage drama.

"I missed it against Daryl by a mile the other day but I said earlier in the week that there were going to be nine-darters, and it's nice for me to back that up and hit one," said Wright.
"I think there's nine-darters to come for the rest of the guys because we're playing day after day after day. It brings the best out of everyone."
Having missed double 12 on Thursday when the pair previously met, Wright admitted: "I took my time a little bit and made sure I threw it properly.
"I thought that if it misses I've thrown it properly and I'm happy with that - and it went in!"
"Playing night after night like this, there will be more!"

Wright went on to lose the tie 8-6 as Gurney punished his three missed doubles to claim a point in the final two legs - leaving the game as a bittersweet memory.
"It's another achievement for me and it's pretty special," said Wright. "I'm gutted about the result but I missed too many doubles in the last two legs and Daryl was outstanding. It was a really good match."
