Venues across England, Wales and Scotland are beginning to receive new Unicorn Eclipse dartboards to celebrate their reopening with the PDC’s #SupportYourLocal campaign.
Over 1,000 pubs and darts-playing venues were nominated by fans, players and celebrities to receive a new dartboard courtesy of the PDC and Unicorn to welcome the reopening of indoor hospitality venues across England, Scotland and Wales on May 17.
After originally offering 50 boards, the decision was made to increase this to 100 due to the incredible response from pub goers and darts fans.
Alongside venues nominated by PDC players and celebrities Stephen Fry and Dave Clark, pubs were selected at random by an independent third party from the nominations received. Please see the list below to find out if your pub has been selected.
Speaking about the campaign, PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter said: “The response to our request for people to nominate their local was incredible and demonstrates just how important the pub is to local communities.
“There were some fantastic stories about darts in the community and its clear to see how much support there is for landlords who keep the grassroots game alive and have fallen on tough times during the pandemic.
“We hope pub doors now remain open as the country continues to recover, and want to thank those landlords, social club committees and community leaders for all they do to make darts available for all.
“We wish we could send a board to every pub nominated, but congratulations to all of those venues selected - we hope you enjoy your Unicorn dartboard and see lots of great darts played on them as leagues and amateur competitions begin to resume.”
Pubs receiving dartboards are encouraged to share pictures on social media using #SupportYourLocal.
