Trio Share Opening DPA Wins

JOHN WEBER, Loz Ryder and Barry Gardner shared the spoils on the opening weekend of the DartPlayers Australia's 2015 Australian Grand Prix series.

A treble-header of DPA events were held at the Ettamogah Hotel in Rouse Hill, New South Wales to kick off the Harrows Australian Grand Prix season, each worth $3,000 in prize money.

Left-hander Weber, the reigning DPA Oceanic Masters champion, defeated Jeremy Fagg 6-4 as he claimed the year's opening event.

Weber also reached the final of Saturday's second event, only to lose in a deciding leg to 2014 AGP champion Loz Ryder, as the Perth ace took victory.

Barry Gardner was Sunday's Event Three winner in another close final which went all the way, overcoming Dave Marland 6-5.

Weber's run to the semi-finals of Sunday's event saw him secure an early lead on the Order of Merit ahead of Ryder and youngster Robbie King, the former World Youth Championship qualifier who reached two semi-finals and a quarter-final over the weekend.

The next DPA Harrows Australian Grand Prix weekend will be held from March 6-8 at the Wanneroo Tavern in Western Australia, with another three $3,000 events being held over a treble-header weekend.
