Charity Boost For Haven House At Ally Pally

HAVEN House Children’s Hospice have announced that an impressive total of £26,350 was raised for the charity throughout the recent William Hill World Darts Championship.

As the PDC’s official charity, Haven House organised a darts challenge and raffle in the fans village at Alexandra Palace which raised £17,350 and also benefited from a generous donation from title sponsors William Hill at the tournament.

Adrian Lewis’ sensational nine-dart finish against Raymond van Barneveld meant that the charity received an additional £9,000 from the bookmaker, with Parkinsons UK, who are supported by Sky Sports presenter Dave Clark, also benefiting from the same donation.

Haven House Children’s Hospice cares for young people up to the age of 19 who have life-limiting conditions, whilst also providing a range of support for families, and has been the official charity of the PDC since 2012.

Michael van Gerwen and Andy Hamilton have previously made visits to the charity’s Woodford Green home, whilst Phil Taylor joined PDC Chairman Barry Hearn for two big events in 2014, in a partnership which has now raised over £375,000 for the charity.

Mike Palfreman, Chief Executive of Haven House Children’s Hospice said: “This is always a really fun event, darts fans really get into the spirit of things and give generously to our raffles and darts challenges.”
