NINE-DART star Alan Norris, Nigel Heydon and Dutch youngsters Mike Zuydwijk and Jeffrey de Zwaan were the Tour Card winners on Day One of the 2015 PDC Qualifying School in Wigan.
Former Lakeside Championship runner-up Norris announced his arrival on the PDC circuit with the first perfect leg of 2015 as he won through from 376 competitors on the opening day of Qualifying School.
The 42-year-old showed his quality with four 5-0 victories from his seven games on the day, whitewashing Philip Johnson-Hale, Gino Vos, Jason Lovett and Andrew Johnson, with his victory over Lovett being capped by his nine-darter as he scored 180, 180 and finished 141 with treble 20, treble 19 and double 12.
Norris also defeated Ireland's William O'Connor and Holland's Erik Hol as he won through to the decider, where he came from 3-0 down against Skegness newcomer Carl Abbiss to win five straight legs and seal his Tour Card.
"I'm ecstatic - it's a great day's work," said Norris. "I've had a tough group but I've come here and done the business.
"I started off a bit slowly today and got through a couple of scrappy games but then I got my game head on, and things went well.
"I was 3-0 down in the decider against a very talented player, and to bring it back and win 5-3 took a lot of bottle so I'm over the moon with that, it's brilliant.
"I'm absolutely delighted - I've had a nine-darter in my first day on the PDC circuit, what more can you ask for?"
Norris was one of four players who competed in the recent Lakeside Championship before joining the PDC circuit at Qualifying School, and he added: "I've probably surprised a lot of players who play on the PDC circuit
"Sometimes a change is as good as a rest and it was time for a change for me - I've been to the Grand Slam and the whole set-up is a lot more professional, and if you've got the bottle to give it a go you can get rewarded."
Leamington Spa's Heydon retained his status on the professional circuit as he defeated Scottish veteran Jim Walker 5-3 in their decider.
Heydon also defeated Ian McFarlane, Philip Borthwick, Andy Pearce, Oliver Stell, Matthew Dennant and Stephen Carrett on the day, as the 44-year-old avoided dropping from the ProTour to the Challenge Tour.
Zuydwijk and de Zwaan, meanwhile, will progress onto the PDC ProTour after qualifying on Wednesday, with both players part of a team being put together by Raymond van Barneveld and his manager to sponsor and develop young Dutch stars.
Zuydwijk, a 20-year-old from Nootdorp, was a winner on the PDC Unicorn Youth Tour in 2014 and impressed as he sealed a Tour Card to turn professional.
After opening his day with a whitewash of Chris Mathews - a PGA Professional golfer - he overcame Swedish veteran Magnus Caris 5-4 and then defeated youngsters Jamie Landon, Shaun Narain and Curtis Hammond as well as St Helens newcomer Eddie Dootson and Northamptonshire's Matt Edgar.
De Zwaan, an 18-year-old from Leidschendam near Den Haag in Holland, knocked out a host of experienced names as he secured his chance to join the PDC circuit full-time, having played on the PDC Youth Tour previously and been a former World Youth Masters winner.
He defeated South Africa's Nolan Arendse in the first round and then saw off former UK Open qualifier Michael Burgoine, Germany's Michael Rosenauer and fellow Dutchman Jerry Hendriks.
Then then overcame former Tour Card winner Lee Palfreyman, whitewashed newcomer Paul Milford 5-0 and defeated experienced Prakash Jiwa - another previous Tour Card holder - 5-1 in their decider.
Edgar, Walker, Jiwa and Abbiss put themselves into pole position to win a Tour Cards via the Qualifying School Order of Merit - if not by right over the remaining three days of Q School - by earning nine ranking points as the losers of the deciding games.
Robbie Green and James Wilson, who joined Norris in moving from the BDO circuit to the PDC, reached the last 16 on Wednesday, alongside Japanese number one Haruki Muramatsu, who is looking to secure his place as a full-time PDC professional.
Former UK Open finalist Barrie Bates, experienced professional Andy Jenkins, South Africa's Graham Filby and Dutch quartet Jan Dekker, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Mareno Michels and Jermaine Wattimena were all amongst the last 32.
The four-day PDC Qualifying School continues on Thursday, with a further four automatic PDC Tour Cards on offer to the last four players, as well as further ranking points.
In addition to the 16 automatic Tour Cards, a further 18 Tour Cards will be awarded to players from the Q School Order of Merit, based on ranking points won across the four days.
Over 400 players entered the 2015 PDC Qualifying School, with players needing to only compete in one day of the event to become PDPA Associate Members to compete on the PDC circuit. Players who entered Qualifying School but do not compete in Wigan will only be eligible to enter PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour events in 2015.

In addition, players are allocated ranking points based on their finishing position on each day of play, forming the Q School Order of Merit from which an additional number of 18 PDC Tour Cards will be awarded.
Ranking Points will be awarded as follows:
Last 8 defeat: 9 points
Last 16 defeat: 5 points
Last 32 defeat: 3 points
Last 64 defeat: 2 points
Last 128 defeat: 1 point
The Q School Order of Merit is also used during 2015 to allocate additional places, in ranking order, within Players Championship tournaments, should the full field of 128 Tour Card Holders not enter.
Players need only to p-lay on a minimum of one day at Qualifying School, although the Q School OOM will be based on four days' performance.
