Gerwyn Price is excited by the challenge of playing in-form Michael van Gerwen as he prepares to return to action in the Cazoo Premier League in Nottingham.
The Welsh star missed last week's Premier League night in Brighton due to an injured hand, and was also ruled out of the weekend's German Darts Championship.
Whilst Price admits his hand is not yet fully healed, the world number two will be back on the big stage at the Motorpoint Arena on Thursday night.
He takes on Van Gerwen, who followed up Premier League successes in both Exeter and Brighton with European Tour success in Germany on Sunday night.
"I can't wait to get back playing," said Price. "My hand has really improved in the last week and, although it's not perfect, I'll be giving it everything against Michael.
"He's in great form so it's going to be an exciting match for us both on Thursday."
