James Wade is to visit the House of Commons next Tuesday as part of the forthcoming launch of the Bipolar Commission report.
The PDC star was diagnosed with the mental health condition a decade ago and in recent years has worked as an ambassador for charity Bipolar UK - the only national charity dedicated to empowering individuals and families affected by bipolar.
The Bipolar Commission was launched in 2021 on World Bipolar Day, and is based on an 18-month programme of interviews, surveys and desktop research highlighting fundamental changes needed to reduce diagnosis time and ensure there is consistency of care for those living with bipolar.
Wade has now revealed that he will be supporting the charity in taking recommendations from the Bipolar Commission to parliamentary decision makers at the House of Commons next week.
"Away from the dartboard, I have some other really interesting engagements coming up, not least a trip to the House of Commons with Bipolar UK to help them launch their Bipolar Commission report," wrote Wade, in his regular column on the Daily Star website.
"Recently people will have heard me talk about my determination to use whatever platform I have to help people with Bipolar and ADHD.
"If my presence means that this piece of work gets more attention, status or coverage then it is well worth the effort.
"I am regularly approached by people looking for someone with empathy for their situation, and hopefully spending more time at events like these will also further educate me on the help that is out there for people and the research that has been done.
"At times I have felt very lonely with my condition and it has made resolute about trying to support anyone that feels like that."
