The Professional Darts Corporation is saddened to learn that former Chairman Mike Titmus has passed away.
Mike preceded Barry Hearn as PDC Chairman during his time in the role in 2000-2001, before subsequently becoming the Darts Regulation Authority's first Chairman.
He came into the sport with a wealth of business experience, having spent 38 years in the brewing industry with Allied Breweries and Carlsberg-Tetley.
In recent years, Mike was responsible for liaison with DRA-affiliated organisations worldwide and was the secretary to the Board, a position he held until November 2023.
"Mike was well-liked within the sport and had a wealth of experience both as a sponsor and then administrator," said PDC Chief Executive Matt Porter.
"He came to the PDC at a key moment in our history and helped to shape the organisation's future when Barry Hearn came on board.
"Mike remained involved through his work with the DRA and always retained a keen interest in supporting and encouraging the growth of the modern game.
"He was a popular figure around our events and always brought a smile and positive approach with him. We will miss him and send our condolences to Mike's family and friends."
