Former World Darts Champion and PDC founding player Keith Deller has been awarded an MBE in the King's New Year's Honours list.
Deller, now 64, shot to fame by winning the 1983 World Championship title, defeating Eric Bristow to spark his career at the sport's top level.
He was also one of the PDC's founding players 30 years ago, and competed on the professional circuit until 2007.
However, it is for his charitable services to the community which Deller has been awarded the MBE, having raised huge sums of money for various charities, including over £500,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
"It was an honour to be world champion and it's going to be an honour to receive the MBE," Deller told BBC Radio Suffolk.
"I've had such a fantastic career and life, but for me helping people was very important and I want to keep doing that."
Deller's recognition comes six months after Fallon Sherrock was awarded an MBE, while his great rivals Eric Bristow and John Lowe - as well as female star Trina Gulliver - have also received the same recognition.
