Rob Cross moved up to fifth on the PDC Order of Merit after lifting his second European Tour title at the NEO.bet Baltic Sea Darts Open on Sunday.
Cross defeated Luke Humphries 8-6 in a sensational final in Kiel, averaging 105 and defying a nine-darter from the World Champion to pocket the £30,000 top prize.
The 33-year-old also saw off Maik Kuivenhoven, Stephen Bunting, Ritchie Edhouse, Madars Razma and Humphries across the weekend to secure his first PDC ranking title for almost 12 months.
Cross’ latest success sees him leapfrog his Premier League rival Gerwyn Price to become the new world number five, after the Welshman withdrew from last weekend’s event at the Wunderino Arena.
Despite his last 16 defeat in Kiel, Damon Heta regained his place in the world’s top ten, climbing to ninth at the expense of UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, who slipped to 11th following his opening round exit.
Dirk van Duijvenbode relinquished his place in the world’s top 16 following a sixth consecutive defeat on the European Tour in 2024, which saw him succumb 6-3 to Daryl Gurney.
Elsewhere, Madars Razma moved up three places to 36th, after dumping out Chris Dobey, Dave Chisnall, Joe Cullen and Ryan Searle to advance to his second European Tour semi-final.
