Table and tier tickets for the 2024/25 Paddy Power World Darts Championship experienced record demand and have now sold out.
All available standard tickets for the sport's showpiece event went on sale from 1200 BST on Monday to PDCTV Annual Members, with the vast majority being sold in the opening afternoon.
Only a small number of tickets were remaining for the second Priority Window, which opened on Tuesday for fans who registered for free Priority Access and the event will now not have a general sale period, as previously advertised, from Wednesday.
With record interest for tickets this year, the PDC recognises the frustration which some fans have at not being able to acquire the tickets they wanted.
As with all Priority Sale periods, these are the first opportunity to purchase tickets but not a guarantee of obtaining tickets.
Positive changes for this year's ticket launch included limiting the number of sessions an individual can book for to four, with tickets limited to six for table tickets or ten for tiered tickets.
With unprecedented interest in PDC events at present, more people than ever have attempted to purchase tickets, with official ticketing partner SeeTickets reporting numbers similar to that which attempt to buy tickets for their most popular gigs and festivals visiting the website.
Despite tens of thousands of malicious attempts to acquire tickets, the SeeTickets software’s security and verification process made it extremely difficult for any of these attempts to get past the initial landing page, and only a handful of completed transactions were flagged as being suspicious – all of which have been cancelled.
Whilst some fans will point to tickets being listed on resale websites, the PDC wishes to point out that where tickets can be identified as being resold in contravention of our advertised terms & conditions, the original ticket bookings will be cancelled and the tickets will be returned to sale through SeeTickets.
It is also important to note that many of the tickets being advertised as being for sale on resale websites do not even exist and are being falsely advertised for sale. We urge all fans to only purchase from official sources as listed on the PDC website, and the only genuine resale market is via the SeeTickets Fan To Fan platform.
The PDC and SeeTickets are continuing to work to ensure that tickets are sold to genuine fans, including identifying any tickets which may have been purchased with the intention of unauthorised resale – a process which is already underway.
Limited numbers of travel packages through Sportsbreaks.com, Sportreizen and Der Tour, and Hospitality Packages through Pitchside Hospitality remain available.
