Rock breaks top 16 following Hungarian Darts Trophy

Josh Rock

Josh Rock has broken into the world's top 16 for the first time after his run to the quarter-finals of the Hungarian Darts Trophy last weekend.

Rock survived match darts in a 6-5 win over James Wade in round two, before defeating Rob Cross 6-4 in the third round to reach the quarter-finals where he went down 6-4 to eventual champion Michael van Gerwen.

The Northern Irishman, who won his PDC Tour Card in January 2022, took home £6,000 in ranking money which sees him leapfrog Joe Cullen into 16th place on the PDC Order of Merit.

Nathan Aspinall's return to competitive action saw him win his opener against Krzysztof Ratajski, which was enough to overtake Dave Chisnall into fifth.

Despite not featuring in Budapest, Luke Littler moves up one place to 21st at the expense of Dirk van Duijvenbode.

Van Gerwen's second ranking title of the week, following his Players Championship 21 win, cements his place in third.

The PDC Order of Merit comprises prize money won over a two-year period by players in PDC ranking events - click here to view the full PDC Order of Merit.

The PDC Order of Merit will next be open to change this week, as Players Championships 22-23 are held in Leicester on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the Czech Darts Open (ET12) takes place from Friday to Sunday - watch live on PDCTV.
