New Home For Dutch Darts Masters

THE PDC European Tour will visit Maastricht for the first time in 2017, with the Dutch Darts Masters set to be held at the MECC from September 1-3.

The three-day event has previously been held in Nuland, Veldhoven and Venray since being introduced in 2012 as part of the European Tour's inaugural year, with wins for Simon Whitlock and Kim Huybrechts followed by three successive titles for Michael van Gerwen.

Next year's event will see the MECC Maastrict host the European Tour for the first time as the series of events expands to 11 tournaments across Europe.

"We are delighted to have found a new home in Maastricht," said PDC Europe president Werner von Moltke. "The Dutch Darts Masters is by now an inherent part of the European Tour and we are convinced that in 2017 it will be a great event."

Rob van de Wiel, managing director MECC Maastricht added: "The Dutch Darts Masters tournament again shows the diversity of MECC Maastricht.

"The international character of this event, which enjoys great popularity among a wide audience, guarantees a weekend full of excitement. We hope this first edition in MECC Maastricht lays the basis for a long-term cooperation with PDC Europe."

Tickets for the 2017 Dutch Darts Masters are expected to go on sale in mid-November through www.pdc-europe.tv.
