Over 100 Enter First NAPT Event

THE inaugural PDC North American ProTour event this coming weekend will feature over 100 players, with the field headed by three-time World Champion John Part.

The first of three NAPT events, worth $10,000 apiece, will be held on Sunday at the Hyatt Regency O'Hare in Chicago, with a $2,200 first prize on offer.

Further events will be held in London, Ontario on August 26 and in Atlantic City on September 9, with the NAPT Order of Merit winner then being invited to play in the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship.

Players in action alongside Canadian legend Part include his World Cup of Darts team-mate Ken MacNeil as well as fellow countryman Jeff Smith, who won a PDC Tour Card at Qualifying School in January.

American World Cup of Darts aces Darin Young and Gary Mawson, as well as Bill Davis - who played in the 2010 World Cup - are also in action in Chicago, alongside 1994 World Matchplay winner Larry Butler.

The field also includes a host of players with experience on the PDC circuit, including John Kuczynski, Ray Carver, Stacy Bromberg, Scott Burnett and Chris White, plus veteran challengers Bob Sinnaeve and Jim Widmayer.

Canada's Bryce Book, who reached the last 16 of the PDC Unicorn World Youth Championship in November 2010, will join last year's representative, Shaun Narain, the youngster who also competed at Qualifying School in January.
