GARY ANDERSON has withdrawn from the European Darts Open in Dusseldorf due to his ongoing eye problems.
The Scot recently pulled out of the second European Tour event in Berlin during his first round clash with Michael Barnard suffering from a problem with his left eye which was affecting his vision and focus.
He had hospital checks last week and missed the Players Championship double-header in Crawley, and has now withdrawn from this weekend's European Darts Open event in Dusseldorf.
Specialists have diagnosed a problem with the tear duct in Anderson's left eye, and the former Premier League champion is to have further tests and treatment ahead of the Betfair World Matchplay, which begins on July 21 in Blackpool.
His scheduled first round opponent in the European Darts Open, Scott Rand, will now receive a Bye through to the second round of the event.
The games which had been schedule on Stage Two to follow the Anderson v Rand match will each now commence approximately 30 minutes earlier due to the withdrawal.
The revised schedule for Stage Two on Friday evening is now:
Brendan Dolan v Dean Winstanley
Colin Osborne v Jim Walker
Peter Wright v Ronny Huybrechts
Co Stompe v Mark Dudbridge
Mark Hylton v Jelle Klaasen
Richie Burnett v Andy Jenkins
Jamie Caven v Brian Woods
Play will commence at 7pm on Friday.
