THE first five Rileys Qualifiers for the Speedy Services UK Open have been discovered in the opening series of knockouts held in Rileys Darts Zones around the UK.
Glen Durrant came from a leg down in the Rileys Middlesbrough final to defeat Allan Edwards, who took the first leg with a 111 finish but could not match the 41-year-old, who won four successive legs to win through to a return to Bolton.
Durrant previously reached the third round in the 2009 UK Open as an amateur qualifier before losing to Terry Jenkins, and is joined in returning to Bolton by Jamie Ellam.
Ellam defeated Eddie Lovely 4-2 in the final of the Rileys Lincoln Qualifier to earn himself a return to the UK Open, having won through to round two last year before losing to Graham Hollis.
Rileys Chester qualifier Kevin Simm also competed in last year's UK Open, where he lost in the first round, and he overcame Dave Routledge 4-1 to win his place in the televised finals.
Mark Layton, who previously competed in the 2009 UK Open, was the Rileys Cardiff winner after defeating Tim Jones 4-1 in the final.
Jamie Robinson was the day's other qualifier, defeating Richard Angelo in a deciding leg of the Rileys Colchester final as he also earned a return to Bolton, where he has previously competed three times.
The 32 Rileys Qualifiers will join 32 Speedy Qualifiers in competing as amateurs alongside the professional stars in the Speedy Services UK Open televised finals from June 7-10, which are held in the Premier Suite, De Vere Whites, Bolton.
