THE fourth staging of the Players Championship Finals will be held from December 1-4 2011 at the Doncaster Dome.
The £250,000 tournament, which features the leading 32 players from the final 2011 Players Championship Order of Merit, will be played across four days as players battle for the £60,000 first prize.
Previously, the Players Championship Finals have been held ahead of the start of Premier League Darts, for example in February 2011 featuring the top 32 from the 2010 Players Championship Order of Merit.
However, the event has moved forward two months and will provide a culmination to the 2011 PDC ProTour, coming a week after the final Players Championships are held in Wigan on November 26 and 27.
The second staging of the World Cup of Darts will now be in early February 2012 and screened live on Sky Sports, with the dates to be confirmed in due course.
Phil Taylor regained the Players Championship Finals title in February, defeating Gary Anderson 13-12 in the final in Doncaster to reclaim the trophy he had previously won in 2009, with Paul Nicholson the 2010 champion.
The Players Championship Finals will feature the top 32 players in the Players Championship Order of Merit following the last Players Championship of 2011, to be held on Sunday November 27 in Wigan.
Ticket information will be announced in due course.
