Petersen's SA Masters Delight

DEVON PETERSEN has won the 2010 South African Masters, earning himself a place in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship.

Petersen avenged last year's loss to Les Francis in the final of the Emperors Palace South African Open with a 5-4 victory in this year's decider in Cape Town.

The pair were amongst the top eight from the 'Saturday Frenzy' stage, which saw players initially competing for three hours in an attempt to finish a leg of 501 in the fewest number of darts.

The leaders progressed to compete in the knockout quarter-finals, with the top eight being:
Neville Whiting
Rajan Odayar
Clifford Stradling
Devon Petersen
Graham Filby
Nolan Arendse
Marthinus Deysel
Les Francis

Petersen will now compete in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace this Christmas, emulating previous qualifiers Wynand Havenga, Charles Losper and Francis.
