MICHAEL MANSELL and Stephen Byrne will compete in the final of the Tom Kirby Memorial Irish Matchplay at the Citywest Hotel in October.
The pair won through to the decider when the early stages of the event were staged at the Green Isle Hotel in Dublin over the Bank Holiday weekend, with 160 from Ireland and Northern Ireland competing.
The winner of the final, to be held on Sunday October 10 ahead of the World Grand Prix final, will earn a spot in the Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship in December.
Mansell, from Tyrone, was a 6-2 winner against Andy Coulter in his semi-final clash, having defeated another player with PDC experience, Martin Murphy, in the quarter-finals.
Wexford's Byrne knocked out last year's champion, Aodhagan O'Neill, in the last eight before a 6-5 win over Benny Grace earned him a spot in the final.
Martin Henegan defeated David Coyne 4-0 to win the Irish Under-21 Matchplay Championship, with both players also now progressing to compete in the Last 64 of the PDC Unicorn Under-21 World Championship in November in Barnsley.
