REPORTS from the last two quarter-finals at the Bullit World Darts Trophy in Utrecht, Holland.
The semi-finals begin at 4pm local time (3pm BST) on Saturday.
Mervyn King 5-3 Mark Webster
Mervyn King reeled off three successive sets to see off Mark Webster 5-3 and move into the semi-finals of the Bullit World Darts Trophy.
The two-time WDT runner-up remains on course for a third appearance in the final of the tournament following a gritty victory over the emerging Welshman.
Webster led 1-0 and 3-2 in the game, but lost his touch on double top at a crucial time as King hit back to take three sets in a row and earn a date with either Phil Taylor or Terry Jenkins on Saturday night.
Webster started brightly, winning the first set 3-1 and taking out 116 in the second set's opener.
King hit back to win the next two legs and squared the game with a two-dart 78 finish in the deciding leg.
King then won set three without reply, twice defying 180s from Webster to break the youngster's throw and including legs of 12 and 13 darters in taking a 2-1 lead in the game.
Webster came from 2-1 down in the next to level matters once again, hitting double top in the deciding leg with King sat on 46.
He also led 2-0 in set five, only for King to hit back and level with a classy 126 of two treble 19s and double six, but a poor leg in the fifth allowed Webster to take out double six himself and move 3-2 up.
Webster broke the throw in the opening leg of the sixth set, and seemed on the way towards extending his lead by winning the second leg on double top, only to miss darts for the set in two of the next three legs as King struck back to make the scoreline 3-3.
Webster was also punished for missed darts in the opener to set seven and, although he immediately broke back against the throw, King took a 2-1 lead in the set on double nine after his opponent had missed single 18 to leave a double top finish.
Double ten saw Webster level again, but King's 75 finish on double six - with Webster sat on 16 - saw him return to the ascendancy at 4-3.
Back-to-back 24 finishes put King 2-0 up and on the brink of victory, with a double top finish for Webster only spurring King on; he opened the next leg with back-to-back 180s to set up a possible nine-darter.
The seventh dart was high of the treble 20, but King left 16 after nine darts and returned to the oche - after Webster was off-target at the bullseye for a 170 finish to stay in the game - to land double eight for an 11-darter and the match.
Phil Taylor 5-3 Terry Jenkins
Phil Taylor overcame a strong challenge from Terry Jenkins to keep alive his hopes of retaining the Bullit World Darts Trophy title with a 5-3 quarter-final win in Utrecht.
Taylor was forced to come from 3-2 down to win three successive sets and book his place in Saturday's semi-finals against Mervyn King.
He had led 2-0 before Jenkins powered back into the game and won three straight sets to move in front and set up a potential repeat of his victory over Taylor in July's Stan James World Matchplay.
However, Taylor regained his touch and took the final three sets to move into the last four.
He started in amazing fashion, winning the first set without reply thanks to legs of 12, 15 and 11 darts, including finishes of 124 and 100 and three maximums.
Taylor added three further 180s in winning the second set 3-1, and should have taken it again without reply but paid for missed doubles in leg three which allowed Jenkins in to take out 83 on double 18 - and saw the 13-time World Champion's averaged dip to 114!
The third set went all the way to a deciding leg with the throw, but an eighth maximum of the game gave Taylor the edge in the decider. Jenkins hit back with a 180 of his own and stepped in after two misses at double 12 from Taylor to land double top for the set.
The pair traded 120 checkouts in set four, before Jenkins again stepped in to take the deciding fifth leg on double top after Taylor was this time off target at the same bed for a 114 finish.
Taylor opened set five with a 14-darter before Jenkins took back-to-back legs to edge in front, only for an 11-darter to send another set into leg five.
Jenkins kicked off the decider with a maximum of his own before landing double five to edge himself in front at 3-2.
Taylor stormed back to level matters by taking set six without reply, Jenkins missing two darts at double top in leg two and Taylor taking out 121 on double eight in the third.
A 14-darter from Taylor broke the throw in the seventh set's opener, and he then finished on 102 after Jenkins missed the bull for a 124 checkout of his own in the second leg.
Taylor was off-target on the bullseye to take the set in the next leg, with Jenkins hitting double seven to pull back to 2-1 only for another 14-darter from Taylor - who landed a key 140 to leave 41 - to put him back in front in the contest.
Taylor took a 2-1 lead in the next to put himself onto the brink of victory, only to miss three darts for the match as Jenkins scrambled home double ten to stay in the game.
But his recovery was short-lived, with yet another 140 from Taylor setting up a finish as he landed double 16 to ensure his last four place.
