PETER MANLEY finished the group stage of the Keukenconcurrent Masters of Darts unbeaten.
Manley has enjoyed a superb week in the tournament with wins against Raymond van Barneveld, Jelle Klaasen, Roland Scholten and Vincent van der Voort.
He added teenage superstar Michael van Gerwen to that list on Wednesday night with a five-set triumph over the World Masters champion.
Manley took a two-set lead in the match, before van Gerwen took advantage of four missed darts for the match from his opponent to sneak the third set.
He also won the fourth set, but Manley came from 1-0 down in the decider with three legs in a row to take victory.
Colin Lloyd saw his hopes of ousting Mervyn King for second place and a spot in the semi-finals ended by Dutch captain Raymond van Barneveld.
The World Champion averaged over 102 in a 3-0 victory, dropping just three legs in the match.
That result meant that King's later game had little relevance to his final position, with second place already assured in the English group provided he avoided a whitewash against Roland Scholten.
King actually took a 2-0 lead against the Dutchman, only for Scholten to storm back and win the final three sets 3-1 to grab his first victory of the week.
Phil Taylor, the England captain, suffered a third defeat in his five games with a 3-1 loss to Vincent van der Voort - giving the Dutchman his only win of the tournament.
The first two sets were shared before a 116 finish from van der Voort gave him the third, and he edged victory in a five-leg fourth set.
Jelle Klaasen defeated Wayne Mardle 3-0 in the night's other match.
The results mean that Manley will face King in Saturday's semi-finals, with van Barneveld and van Gerwen also facing off before the winners contest and Anglo-Dutch final
