UK Open Spots For 11 Rileys Qualifiers

A FURTHER 11 players won places in the Coral UK Open on the second weekend of the Rileys Amateur Qualifiers.

Hundreds of players took part in the knockouts which were held as far afield as Aberdeen, Worcester and London Victoria as they challenged for one of the 32 places available in March's UK Open Televised Finals at the Butlins Minehead Resort.

Manchester-based publican Paul Whitworth will compete in his ninth UK Open next month after he won through the Rileys Chorlton knockout.

London postman Dave Parletti will compete for a second successive year in the UK Open after winning the Rileys Twickenham qualifier, while Rileys Coventry winner Chris Jones previously played in the 2011 UK Open, where he met Co Stompe.

Tadcaster-based carpet fitter Curtis Turner, Birmingham roofer Michael McFall and Crosby-based factory worker Mark Rice were Saturday's other Rileys Amateur Qualifiers as they secured UK Open debuts.

Romford-based Daniel Day won through at London Victoria on Sunday to secure his UK Open debut, having previously played from 2013-2015 on the PDC circuit without reaching the Televised Finals.

Downe-based Scott Marsh also qualified from London Victoria, having previously competed in the 2013 UK Open as an amateur, defeating Scott Coleman before losing out to Jyhan Artut.

Aberdeen's Jason Hogg (pictured), who reached the last 64 of the 2013 and 2014 UK Opens and also played in the 2015 World Championship, won through the Aberdeen qualifier to seal his spot in Minehead.

Coventry-based Ian McFarlane and Countesthorpe-based shop-fitter Lee Morris were Sunday's other Rileys Amateur Qualifiers.

The Rileys Amateur Qualifiers continue on Sunday February 7 in Greenock and will run through to Sunday February 21.

Entry costs £6 per Qualifier - including a free drink voucher, or a £3 cashback voucher in Scotland - and players are permitted to compete in more than one of the knockouts.

Entries are being taken via www.rileys.co.uk/tournaments.

Full Terms & Conditions and Tournament Rules are also available at the Rileys website.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: Due to circumstances beyond the control of Rileys, the Gillingham qualifier on February has been cancelled and replaced by Rileys South Benfleet on the same day. Entries for Gillingham remain valid at South Benfleet - for further information please contact Rileys.
