William Hill Betting Update

WITH 26 players remaining in the William Hill World Darts Championship as the tournament enjoys a three-day Christmas break, Michael van Gerwen remains the betting favourite.

World number one van Gerwen entered the tournament as the pre-event favourite, and is odds-on at 8/11 to claim the title with William Hill ahead of his second round tie with Cristo Reyes.

Reigning champion Gary Anderson is the 11/2 second favourite following his 4-0 second round win over Andrew Gilding, with Peter Wright and Phil Taylor - who have both to play their last 32 contests after Christmas - rated at 9/1.

Two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis, who whitewashed Joe Cullen on Friday to reach the last 16, is 20/1 to complete an Alexandra Palace treble, with Dave Chisnall 28/1 to win his first TV title and both James Wade and Raymond van Barneveld 33/1 chances.

Dutch ace Jelle Klaasen is a 40/1 chance, with Kim Huybrechts and Michael Smith - another player who won through to the third round on Friday - rated at 66/1 and number eight seed Mensur Suljovic 80/1.

Benito van de Pas, who edged out Terry Jenkins in their epic round two battle, is now 100/1, with two other players who are also through to the last 16, Darren Webster and Ian White, joined by Daryl Gurney as 125/1 shots.

William Hill are also offering odds of 4/6 for a nine-dart finish (11/10 for no nine-darter) during the remainder of the tournament, which would also see them make a £9,000 donation to Parkinson's UK, the official charity partner of the PDC.
