Aussie Ace Anderson On Comeback Trail

Kyle Anderson

KYLE ANDERSON is to make his comeback on the PDC circuit in February after resolving his visa issues and returing to the UK.

The Australia star suffered issues with his visa renewal late last year, and was unable to compete in the UK from October - meaning that he missed out on the Cash Converters Players Championship Finals and William Hill World Darts Championship.

However, after securing a one-year sports visa, the 29-year-old will return to action following his three-month absence in the Coral UK Open Qualifiers in Wigan next weekend.

The world number 30's last competitive appearance came as he reached the quarter-finals of the Unibet European Championship, and he is keen to make up for lost time on his return to the oche.

"I'm back in town, I can't wait," Anderson told Unicorn Darts after touching down in the UK.

"I didn't throw a dart for about a month-and-a-half whilst I was home. I've had a couple of exhibitions and that's got me back in the mood and I threw quite well.

"I'm looking forward to it and there's hunger there. [Getting into] the top 20 [this year] is being realistic and then whatever else comes is a bonus."

Having competed in four previous World Championships, Anderson admitted that missing the Alexandra Palace event in December proved the toughest blow.

"I did miss it a lot," he added. "It was the first time in four years I spent Christmas at home with my family, but it was unfortunate I couldn't play.

"I had high hopes all the way until the last minute before the draw was made. I sat at home and watched it, enjoyed it but I was a bit upset that I wasn't playing."
