WILLIAM HILL have made Gary Anderson 7/2 to complete a World Championship treble at next year's tournament after he retained the trophy in Sunday's final against Adrian Lewis.
The Scottish star produced another super-show, including a 170 checkout, as he avenged his 2011 final loss to Lewis with a 7-5 triumph at Alexandra Palace to retain the Sid Waddell Trophy and claim a record £300,000 first prize.
He will aim to follow Eric Bristow and Phil Taylor in claiming three successive World Championship wins at next year's event, with sponsors William Hill making him a 7/2 chance to achieve that feat.
Current world number one Michael van Gerwen is the early 6/4 favourite, with 16-time World Champion Taylor 8/1 and Lewis - the 2011 and 2012 winner - a 10/1 chance to win the title for a third time.
"Gary Anderson has proved his pedigree once again on the Alexandra Palace stage," said William Hill spokesman Tony Kenny.
"He's clearly the man to beat and it will take an almighty effort to deny him a hat-trick of William Hill World Championship titles."
