PETER WRIGHT is hoping to have overcome his slump in form as he prepares for the Shanghai Darts Masters.
World number three Wright has enjoyed an amazing year - winning his first TV title at the Coral UK Open and seven other tournaments before the end of May.
However, a dip in form during June saw Wright fail to reach a quarter-final in five tournaments he competed in, before he bounced back to begin July with triumph in the HappyBet European Darts Open.
Wright has admitted that he has suffered similar slumps in form in previous years, the Scot hopes that his rocky spell is now over ahead of the World Series of Darts double-header in Shanghai and Las Vegas and the forthcoming BetVictor World Matchplay.
"I go through it every year, a stage where I don't know how to throw a dart," said Wright. "It's normally a week before the Matchplay, but luckily enough I've got that out of the way ready for Shanghai and Vegas.
"It's going to be amazing going back to China, and then going to Vegas. It's been a long time since I've been there, but it's going to be amazing."
