Van Gerwen Evens After Super-Show

MICHAEL VAN GERWEN has moved into Evens with sponsors William Hill to claim a second World Championship title at Alexandra Palace.

The world number one's incredible second round performance as he defeated Darren Webster with a 109 average has seen his odds to claim glory in the William Hill World Darts Championship slashed.

Title sponsors William Hill are offering van Gerwen as the best-priced Evens favourite to lift the Sid Waddell Trophy on New Year's Day.

Phil Taylor is the 9/2 second favourite ahead of his second round tie with Kevin Painter on Monday, with reigning champion Gary Anderson 6/1 to retain the title.

James Wade's straight sets win over Wes Newton in round two has seen his odds cut to 12/1 alongside two-time World Champion Adrian Lewis.
