Smart Meter Competition T&Cs
1. The promoter

1.1 The promoter is The Professional Darts Corporation Ltd, company number 03473679, whose registered office is at Mascalls, Mascalls Lane, Brentwood, Essex, England CM14 5LJ (the “PDC”).

2. The Prize Draw
2.1 The Prize Draw is free to enter and winners will be selected at random from valid entries received by the PDC.

3. How to enter
3.1 The period when you can submit your entry to the Prize Draw will run from 1200 GMT on Monday November 4 2024 (the “Opening Time”) until the closing time of Monday December 9 2024 at 1200 GMT (the “Closing Time”) inclusive. Competition entries after these dates will not be counted.

3.2 Your entry must be received by the PDC by no later than the Closing Time. All entries received after the Closing Time are invalid.

3.3 To enter the Prize Draw, you must complete the competition registration form and submit your contact details.

3.4 No purchase is necessary.

3.5 The PDC do not accept responsibility for entries that are lost, mislaid, damaged or delayed, regardless of cause, including (for example) as a result of any equipment failure, technical malfunction, systems, satellite, network, server, computer hardware or software failure of any kind.

3.6 By submitting your entry to the Prize Draw, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions.

4. Eligibility
4.1 The Prize Draw is open to UK residents aged 18 years or over, except for:
(a) employees, contractors and workers of Smart Energy GB;
(b) employees of the PDC (or any affiliates, subsidiaries, commercial partners, advertising or promotion agencies of the PDC);
(c) anybody who is professionally connected with the Prize Draw or its administration; or
(d) members of the immediate families (defined as parents, children, siblings, spouses, and life partners) or households of anyone referred to in clause 4.1(a) to (c) above who may not enter the Prize Draw.

4.2 By entering the Prize Draw, you confirm that you are eligible to do so and to claim any Prize that you win. The PDC may require you to prove that you are eligible to enter the Prize Draw, for example by providing ID.

4.3 The PDC will not accept entries that are:
(a) automatically generated by computer;
(b) completed by third parties or in bulk;
(c) illegible, have been altered, reconstructed, forged or tampered with; or
(d) incomplete.

4.4 There is a limit of one entry to the Prize Draw per person. Entries on behalf of another person and joint entries are not allowed.

4.5 The PDC may disqualify you if they reasonably believe that your conduct is in breach of these terms and conditions, fraudulent or otherwise contrary to the spirit or intention of the Prize Draw.

5. The Prize
5.1 The prizes are 5 sets of tickets for 4 people to the World Darts Championship 2024 taking place 15th December 2024 – 3rd January 2025.

5.2 The PDC reserves the right to replace any Prize with an alternative if the original Prize is not available.

5.3 Prizes are not transferable, exchangeable or negotiable. There is no cash alternative to any Prize.

5.4 To claim a Prize, the winner must respond to the PDC's direct email and provide all requested information within 48 hours from the request by PDC.

5.5 Prizes do not include any reimbursement of travel or accommodation expenses.

6. Winners
6.1 The PDC's decision is final and no correspondence or discussion will be entered into.

6.2 All qualifying entrant email addresses will be entered into a random prize draw selector via https://commentpicker.com/random-name-picker.php?utm_content=cmp-true and one winner will be chosen.

6.3 The PDC will contact the winner by email as soon as reasonably practicable after the Closing Time by email.

6.4 The PDC must make available information that indicates that a valid Prize award took place. To comply with this obligation, PDC will send the surname and county of Prize winners (and copies of any winning entries, if applicable) to anyone who emails Sam.Woodland@pdc.tv within one month after the Closing Time. If you object to your surname, county or winning entry being made available, please contact PDC at Sam.Woodland@pdc.tv. If you do this, the PDC must still provide the information to the Advertising Standards Authority on request.

7. Claiming a Prize
7.1 If you win the Prize, you will have 48 hours after the PDC sends you an email to claim your Prize, as described in paragraph 5.4 above. If you do not claim the Prize by this date, your claim will become invalid and you will not be entitled to the Prize.

7.2 The Prize may not be claimed by someone else on your behalf.

7.3 The PDC will make reasonable efforts to contact the Prize winners by the email submitted with the registration form. If you do not respond within 48 hours after the PDC's email is sent, the PDC may offer the prize to another randomly selected eligible entrant from the valid entries that were received before the Closing Time.

7.4 The PDC does not accept any responsibility if you are not able to take up the Prize.

7.5 Winners may be asked to provide identification and proof of address proving their eligibility before they are entitled to receive any Prize.

8. Limitation of liability
8.1 As far as permitted by law, the PDC, their agents and distributors are not in any circumstances liable to compensate the winner or accept any liability for any loss, damage, personal injury or death occurring as a result of taking up the Prize, except where this is caused by the negligence of the PDC, their agents or distributors or that of their employees. Your statutory rights are not affected.

9. Ownership of entries and intellectual property rights
9.1 The PDC do not claim any rights of ownership in your competition entry.

9.2 You agree that the PDC may, but are not required to, make your entry available on their websites and any other media, whether now known or invented in the future, and in connection with any publicity of the Prize Draw. You grant the PDC non-exclusive, worldwide, irrevocable licence, for the full period of any intellectual property rights in your entry and any accompanying materials, to use, display, publish, transmit, copy, edit, alter, store, re-format and sub-license the entry and any accompanying materials for those purposes. You also agree to waive all moral rights in and to your entry to which you may now or at any time in the future be entitled anywhere in the world.

10. Data protection and publicity
10.1 The PDC will only process your personal information as set out in its privacy policy https://www.pdc.tv/privacy-policy and to announce winners as described in paragraph 6.3 above.

10.2 If you win and successfully claim a prize, you may be asked to participate in a reasonable amount of publicity on the PDC behalf if asked to do so by the PDC. This might include publishing your name and photograph in any media. You are not under an obligation to agree to this.

10.3 If you win and successfully claim a prize, you may be asked to  agree to being filmed for the PDC's marketing and promotional purposes on the day of the experience. This might include publishing your name and photograph in any media. You are not under an obligation to agree to this.

11. General
11.1 If the PDC reasonably believes that you have breached these terms and conditions, the PDC may (at its sole discretion) exclude you from participating in the Prize Draw.

11.2 The PDC may void, suspend, cancel or amend the Prize Draw if it becomes necessary to do so.

11.3 The PDC cannot guarantee the performance of any third party, and shall not be liable for any act or default by a third party.

11.4 These terms and conditions are governed by English law. All entrants to the Prize Draw submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except that if you are resident in Northern Ireland you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident in Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.
