Gerwyn Price has risen to second on the Cazoo Premier League table after picking up his second night win of the season in Nottingham on Thursday.
Price defeated Chris Dobey 6-4 in the final at the Motorpoint Arena, having started the night with a 6-4 victory over fellow-Welsh star Jonny Clayton before beating Dimitri van den Bergh in the semi-finals by the same scoreline.
The night win sees Price avenge the seven match darts missed in the Night Four final in Dublin to double his tally of night wins as he looks to reach the Play-Offs for the first time.
"I thought I played pretty well tonight, I just missed a few doubles which let people in games," Price reflected.
"I've been playing well for the last couple of weeks, but players just keep pipping me in games.
"I was really edgy against Jonny, I very rarely feel as nervous as I did in that game; I knew I could slip down the table if I lost so I needed that win and then I found my feet in the last two matches.
"The crowds have been good for me the last couple of weeks and that makes me play better, hopefully I can kick on and make the Play-Offs."
Meanwhile, Dobey ended Michael van Gerwen's ten-match winning run in emphatic style, whitewashing the league leader 6-0 in the semi-finals as he picked up his first three league points since the opening night.
Semi-finalists Van Gerwen and Dimitri Van den Bergh leave the East Midlands with two points apiece thanks to quarter-final wins over Peter Wright and Nathan Aspinall respectively.
