THE Professional Darts Corporation will stage over 50 events worldwide in 2010.
The 2010 calendar has now been confirmed, with the seven Premier tournaments accompanied by 33 Players Championships and the eight UK Open Qualifiers.
The European Championship will move forward in the calendar to be played in Dinslaken, Germany at the end of July, the week following the World Matchplay in Blackpool.
The German Darts Championship is being moved to February 2011 in anticipation of live television coverage in Germany.
The eight former Regional Finals in qualifying for the UK Open will now be known as UK Open Qualifiers, following a change to using five specific venues for weekends on the PDC Pro Tour in the UK.
The five venues are:
Oasis Leisure Centre, Swindon
Moorways Leisure Centre, Derby
Barnsley Metrodome
Robin Park Tennis Centre, Wigan
K2 Centre, Crawley
Players Championship weekends will also be held in Gibraltar, Germany, Austria and Holland, as well as in Australia and Canada during August.
The Australian Open Players Championship will be a £22,000 event to be staged on August 22, with the following weekend being a double-header in Canada.
Another £22,000 Players Championship will be held on Saturday August 28, which will be followed by the Canadian Masters Players Championship.
A total of 34 Players Championships will be played during the year, with all PDC Pro Tour events having a £31,600 prize fund.
For the 2011 Ladbrokes.com World Darts Championship, the PDPA will hold a knockout qualifying event for one place in the tournament.
This event, being run by the PDPA, will be staged in Derby on Monday November 29 following the final weekend of Players Championships in the year.
Amendment - October 13 2009: The venues for the Players Championship weekends in Holland in June and September have been changed. Haarlem will host events on June 19 and 20, and Nuland will host events on September 18 and 19.
