Jonny Clayton will kick off his bid for a third Elten Safety Shoes Austrian Darts Open title against Jermaine Wattimena or a Host Nation Qualifier, with the draw and schedule confirmed for this weekend’s European Tour event in Graz.
The fifth European Tour event of 2025 will see a 48-player field competing for silverware at the Premstättner Halle from April 25-27, with top seed Clayton headlining the action.
Friday’s first round will feature 16 matches across two sessions, with five-time World Champion Raymond van Barneveld pitted against Czech number one Karel Sedlacek in a stand-out clash.
Wessel Nijman takes on Ireland’s former World Cup runner-up William O’Connor, while Latvian star Madars Razma meets a resurgent Ian White in his opener.
Lukas Wenig and Niko Springer go head-to-head in an all-German showdown, as their fellow countryman Ricardo Pietreczko plays European Tour debutant Tom Bissell for a place in round two.
The 16 PDC Order of Merit Qualifiers will enter the fray in Saturday’s second round, as Welsh number one Clayton opens his title challenge against Wattimena or a Host Nation representative as he bids to add to his triumphs in the 2018 and 2023 Austrian Darts Open events.
Stephen Bunting – the winner at the International Darts Open earlier this month – will also take centre stage in Graz, with Patrick Geeraets or Canada’s Matt Campbell awaiting the St Helens star.
Australian number one Damon Heta will take on either Van Barneveld or Sedlacek for a place in the last 16, while Nathan Aspinall is guaranteed Dutch opposition in the shape of Kevin Doets or Berry van Peer.
Fifth seed Chris Dobey faces a potential showdown with Pietreczko, as Luke Woodhouse and Nathan Rafferty collide for the right to face two-time World Champion Peter Wright.
Josh Rock could play Krzysztof Ratajski in a repeat of their quarter-final clash at the German Darts Grand Prix, although the Polish ace must first overcome Mickey Mansell on Friday afternoon.
Nijman or O’Connor await World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker, while Gian van Veen – a finalist in Munich last weekend – is poised to take on his compatriot Dirk van Duijvenbode or East Europe Qualifier Gyorgy Jehirszki.
Following Saturday’s second round, the last 16 will take place on Sunday afternoon, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final in a bumper evening session.
Live coverage from the Austrian Darts Open will be streamed on DAZN for viewers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland, and through the DAZN Darts channel on Pluto TV.
Coverage will also be shown on PDCTV (excluding Germany, Austria and Switzerland) and through bookmakers' worldwide.
