PETER WRIGHT'S preparations for the William Hill World Darts Championship have been hampered after he was briefly hospitalised with illness on Thursday.
The world number two was rushed to hospital and diagnosed with suspected gallstones.
He was released on Friday and returned to his Suffolk home, where the Scot is now recuperating.
Wright has withdrawn from his planned exhibition appearances in early December to recover from the illness.
He is scheduled to face Brazil's Diogo Portela in the first round of the World Championship on Thursday December 21, giving the 2014 finalist almost three weeks to return to full health.
