PDPA President hails "truly amazing" prize money boost

Alan Warriner-Little (PDC)

The PDC's record prize money announcement has been welcomed as "truly amazing" by PDPA President Alan Warriner-Little.

The PDC announced on Monday that prize money on the PDC circuit will rise to an unprecedented £25 million from the World Darts Championship onwards.

Alongside huge increases in prize money for PDC Premier events - including a huge £1 million to the World Champion - the boosts will be in place at all levels on the PDC circuit.

Warriner-Little was one of the PDC's founder players three decades ago and now leads the PDPA's work alongside professional players.

"This is incredible by the PDC," said Warriner-Little. "The players should be ecstatic with this, as we are.

"This increase will give our members more prize funds to gain, particularly the lower-ranked players.

"Our sport is in an unbelievable place at the moment and this announcement will no doubt increase that stature. Everyone wants to know about darts, and the top players are pop stars!

"Our members should be on the dartboard even more getting ready for this in 2026. When we look back to how we started and to where we are now is truly amazing."
