WITH eight qualifiers confirming their place in the 2018 William Hill North American Championship, we give the lowdown on the players battling it out for a place at Alexandra Palace.
Thursday's event at the Mandalay Bay Casino & Resort will be shown live on ITV4 and BBC America, with the winner securing their place at the 2018/19 William Hill World Darts Championship.
All eight players will then play in the 2018 William Hill US Darts Masters, which kicks off on Friday and is also being screened live on ITV4 and BBC America.
Here we take a closer look at the eight North American qualifiers:
Jeff Smith
Age: 42

Career History:
Jeff Smith is a familiar face to many darts fans, having competed in the 2016 Grand Slam of Darts and, most recently, the 2018 William Hill World Darts Championship.
The Canadian thrower has also represented his country at the 2013 World Cup of Darts alongside John Part and reached the Lakeside World Championship Final in 2016.
Smith was a PDC Tour Card holder from 2011-13 and, following his appearance at Alexandra Palace last December, has played in eight PDC Unicorn Challenge Tour events so far in 2018.

Dawson Murschell
Age: 22

Career History:
Dawson Murschell announced his talent to a worldwide audience with a shock win over James Wade on the opening day of the 2017 US Darts Masters.
The Canadian youngster overcame big-stage nerves, having made his TV debut a day earlier in the North American Championship, to win 6-5 after Wade missed six match darts in a dramatic deciding leg.
Murschell used the historic victory as a springboard to winning his Tour Card in January and has played on the ProTour in 2018.

John Norman Jnr
Age: 44

Career History:
John Norman Jnr is best remembered by darts fans for his passionate performances at the 2017 World Cup of Darts where he proudly represented his country alongside Part.
The eccentric Candian won his Tour Card last January and went on to play in a number of ProTour events throughout 2017 and 2018.
Norman Jnr will be desperate to earn his place at Alexandra Palace and viewers can expect to see huge celebrations if he enjoys a successful few days in the City of Lights.
DJ Sayre
Age: 31
Home town: Chillicothe, Ohio, USA
Career History:
Dennis Sayre made his PDC debut in last year's North American Championship, where he went down to eventual winner Willard Brugier.
The Ohio thrower was then defeated by 2017 US Darts Masters runner-up Daryl Gurney the following day, despite giving a good account of himself.
Sayre will be looking to make progress from his TV debut in this year's events and he, along with Norman Jnr, were the first two players to win through Tuesday's opening qualifiers.
David Cameron
Age: 48
Home town: New Glasgow, Nova Scotia, Canada
Career History:
David Cameron also starred in last year's North American Championship, where he lost 6-5 to Murschell, and the US Darts Masters, where he went down 6-3 to Raymond van Barneveld.
The Canadian has featured in the last five Lakeside World Championships and competed in the PDC US Darts Open a decade ago.
Ross Snook
Age: 47
Home town: St. Alban's, Newfoundland & Labrador, Canada

Career History:
Ross Snook is an established name in North American darts, having played in events for the last decade.
The Canadian made his PDC World Championship debut in 2017 and has competed on the CDC Tour this year.
Joseph Huffman
Career History:
Joseph Huffman will be making his PDC televised debut in Vegas this week, having competed in a number of tournaments in America over the last eight years.
Huffman's best performance came at the 2012 WDF Americas Cup Singles where he reached the semi-finals.
Daniel Lauby
Age: 25
Career History:
Daniel Lauby Jnr (pictured left) will be making his TV debut this week in Vegas, with his sole tournament win coming at the 2016 ADO Buckeye Open.
Lauby's father, Daniel Lauby Snr, competed in the PDC World Championship in 1999, 2000 and 2001 and the World Matchplay in 1999.
The North American Championship, won last year by Bruguier, will play to a conclusion on Thursday, with a $10,000 first prize for the eventual winner accompanied by a spot in the William Hill World Darts Championship.
The draw for the William Hill US Darts Masters will be made between the semi-finals and final of the North American Championship, ahead of the main World Series of Darts event on Friday and Saturday.
