A RECORD-BREAKING day at Players Championship 2 saw four nine-dart finishes hit for the first time in PDC ProTour history, while Michael van Gerwen added to the list of routes to a perfect leg on a live broadcast.
A special Sunday at Wigan's Robin Park Tennis Centre began with Dutch youngster Geert Nentjes, playing in just his second day as a PDC professional, hitting a nine-darter in his stunning 6-0 whitewash of Mervyn King in round two.
Soon after, rising star Chris Dobey followed up his eye-catching Premier League debut with a perfect leg in the decider to overcome Dave Prins in the third round.
Event winner Chisnall landed the third nine-darter of the day in round three against Rowby-John Rodriguez, before three-time World Champion Van Gerwen got in the act in his incredible quarter-final defeat to Jonny Clayton.
Van Gerwen's effort saw him left on 141 after back-to-back 180s before the Dutchman created history by finding the treble 19 bed, then the treble 16 before pinning double 18 - the first time the route has been used to hit a nine-dart finish on a live broadcast.
The next Players Championship events will be held across the weekend of February 16-17 at Wigan's Robin Park Tennis Centre, with live streaming from two boards simultaneously in the new-look PDCTV-HD.
