Peter Wright will return to the Unibet Home Tour on Monday, having put a month's break to good use at his Suffolk home.
The World Champion was initially involved in the Home Tour on the opening night in April, but finished second as Jamie Lewis won Group One.
Wright returns to action in Group 32 on Monday night, and although he has continued to practice the Scot has also been kept busy at home by wife Jo during the lockdown period.
"I'm keeping busy," Wright told the Daily Record. "There's plenty to be doing and I'm building a polytunnel. It's 42 foot by 20 foot so it’s not a little one.
"They say you can actually put it up in two days but it has been a bit of an on and off project. The weather has been a bit windy and it has rained, so that has held it up. But there's going to be everything in there – tomatoes, cucumbers, melons, peppers.
"Jo keeps me busy. She's been asking me to make things for her chickens. I put a bench together, sanded it down and painted it – like a little garden seat to feed them.
"I'll give anything a go. It might not be great but I'll try."
The break in regular PDC tournaments has given Wright a welcome extended break at home, although house-guest Dimitri Van den Bergh - the Belgian who has remained in the UK during lockdown - has provided competitive practice on the dartboard.
"At the beginning of the year Jo and I had spoken about it being nice to maybe get six months off to recharge the batteries," he revealed.
"It looks like that wish is coming true. We just didn't want it to be in these circumstances.
"As well as recharging those batteries, though, it can also offer a new focus and hunger for playing the game. It makes me want to carry on and get better and better – to try to break more records. I believe I can perform better."
