A unique Betfred World Matchplay begins on Saturday in Milton Keynes, and here we look at the differences ahead of the tournament's first staging behind closed doors.
The coronavirus pandemic and current restrictions mean that, for the first time since the World Matchplay was introduced in 1994, the event is not able to take place with a crowd at Blackpool's Winter Gardens.
Whilst there will be no spectators at the Marshall Arena, players will hear crowd noise whilst playing which will also be available on the television coverage of the action.
A video wall will also be in operation within the arena to show pre-recorded clips of fans - which can be submitted throughout the event through this link.
Fans can also download a PDF of the Betfred World Matchplay 180 card to write their own messages at home - share your pictures to @OfficialPDC & @Betfred on Twitter.
PDC partners Selco are also giving fans the chance to win prizes by sending fancy dress photos - click here for more information.
The Marshall Arena will also be celebrating the nine former World Matchplay champions in a special banner display of the previous winners.
Sky Sports' broadcasts of the event will be presented by Nigel Pearson, who steps in following Dave Clark's decision last week to end almost two decades in front of the cameras.
Pearson told Sky Sports: "It's an emotional time for us all after Clarky's announcement. I'm honoured to hold the fort & look forward to nine great nights of action."
The Sky Sports broadcast will include walk-ons introduced as usual by PDC Master of Ceremonies John McDonald, and player interviews conducted under appropriate social distancing measures.
