The Stroke Association are on course to receive a bumper donation from Betfred at the World Matchplay, with the 180 total from the event's first round higher than in 2019.
World Matchplay sponsors Betfred will be making a charity donation to the Stroke Association following the tournament, which will include £50 per 180 thrown during the event.
They have also pledged an additional £10,000 if last year's total of 330 maximum scores is matched or beaten over the course of the nine-day event in Milton Keynes.
Tuesday saw the first round come to a close, with the total of 141 maximums bettering last year's 133 across the opening 16 matches - guaranteeing over £7,000 from those games.
A further 48 180s were achieved in the opening four second round ties played on Tuesday night, leaving the total for the tournament at 189 so far - an increase of 15 on the 174 achieved at the same stage 12 months ago.
The highest individual total of 180s hit in a first round game was ten by Mensur Suljovic in his thrilling tie with Jamie Hughes - who landed eight in reply to raise £900 between them for the Stroke Association.
In addition to Betfred's donation for 180s thrown in the event, competing players in the tournament have also been taking part in a Nine-Dart Challenge, with £1 per point to be donated - watch out for videos on the Betfred social media channels.
Last year saw Betfred donate £32,000 to Parkinson's UK following the World Matchplay following their charity activity at the event.
