Snooker team takes honours at annual charity fishing event

Team Snooker - 2020 Target Sports Stars Fishing Championship

Former darts ace Chris Mason was a guest on the winning team at an annual charity fishing event which featured a host of PDC stars on Tuesday.

The Target Sports Stars Fishing Championship took place at Tunnel Barn Fishery in Warwickshire, and was raising money this year for The Willow Foundation.

PDC Chairman Barry Hearn joined Phil Taylor, Gary Anderson, Adrian Lewis, Michael Smith, Ian White, Darren Webster and Scott Mitchell competing.

However, it was former PDC star and current ITV commentator Mason who tasted success in his guest appearance as part of Team Snooker alongside Mark Williams, Ian Burns and former footballer Shaun Teale, as they won the team event.

Burns also won the individual honours after catching 73.25kg during the four-hour event, ahead of Teale (54.695kg).

Two-time World Champion Lewis was the darts player who caught the greatest weight of fish on the day with 51.245kg, ahead of Mason (39.695kg) and Ian White (36.335kg), while Phil Taylor, Michael Smith and Scott Mitchell all caught over 20kg.

Coverage from the event will be shown on ITV4 in due course.
