Jose de Sousa has entered the top 16 on the PDC Order of Merit for the first time after winning the BoyleSports Grand Slam of Darts.

De Sousa, who started the year in 61st position, is up to 15th having been ranked 34th prior to a life-changing nine days in Coventry.

Grand Slam runner-up James Wade moves up a place from eighth to seventh, having started the year in ninth.

Michael van Gerwen, Peter Wright and Gerwyn Price still make up the top three, while Michael Smith has leapfrogged Rob Cross into fourth.

Grand Slam semi-finalist Dimitri Van den Bergh and Ian White replace Gary Anderson and Daryl Gurney in the world's top ten.

The PDC Order of Merit will next be open to change this week at the Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals, as the top 64 players on the Players Championship Order of Merit compete for £500,000 in ranking money.
