The race to qualify for the 2023 Betfred World Matchplay will reach its climax at this weekend's Interwetten European Darts Matchplay in Germany.
The year's tenth PDC European Tour event will see 48 players battling it out in Trier from June 30 to July 2, and following the conclusion of the tournament, the 32-player field for the 2023 Betfred World Matchplay will be confirmed.
The top 16 players from the PDC Order of Merit will be seeded for July's £800,000 event, and they will be joined by 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit.
Reigning champion Michael van Gerwen will be aiming to lift the coveted Phil Taylor Trophy for a fourth time next month, with world number one Michael Smith, 2021 champion Peter Wright and last year's runner-up Gerwyn Price set to star.
Former winners Rob Cross, Dimitri Van den Bergh and James Wade are also set be among the 16 seeds at the Empress Ballroom, alongside Wales' two-time World Cup of Darts winner Jonny Clayton.
World Youth Champion Josh Rock will head up the 16 qualifiers from the one-year ProTour Order of Merit, as the Northern Irishman prepares to make his Blackpool bow alongside a resurgent Gary Anderson - a World Matchplay winner in 2018.
The trio of recent televised winners Ross Smith, Chris Dobey and Andrew Gilding are also set to qualify via the ProTour Order of Merit, as are Germany's World Cup of Darts semi-finalists Gabriel Clemens and Martin Schindler.
Five-time world champion Raymond van Barneveld is £6,000 above the qualification cut-off as he eyes a first World Matchplay appearance since 2018, with 59-year-old Steve Beaton also well placed for a Winter Gardens return.
Kim Huybrechts and Brendan Dolan - who will both feature in Trier this weekend - occupy the final two provisional places, with William O'Connor, Simon Whitlock and Luke Woodhouse leading the chasing pack.
The tables below show the latest standings in the race to the Betfred World Matchplay, which will take place at Blackpool's Winter Gardens from July 15-23, televised on Sky Sports and through the PDC's global broadcast partners.
N.B. Players competing in the European Darts Matchplay (ET10) who are not listed below can still qualify via the ProTour Order of Merit.
The ProTour Order of Merit table used for Betfred World Matchplay qualification runs from 2022 Players Championship 22 to 2023 European Tour Event Ten.
The tournament will be broadcast live on Sky Sports in the UK, through the PDC's worldwide broadcast partners including DAZN and Viaplay, and on PDCTV (excluding UK, Germany, Austria & Switzerland based subscribers).
