Prostate Cancer UK fundraising star Webber enjoys Ally Pally experience

Kevin Webber

Prostate Cancer UK fundraising champion Kevin Webber enjoyed a memorable visit to the Paddy Power World Darts Championship - getting to take to the famous Ally Pally stage!

Kevin has raised over £1 million for Prostate Cancer UK during the past nine years since being diagnosed with the disease in 2014.

Despite being given just two years to live, he has undertaken a string of ultra-marathons - most recently in Cambodia at the start of December - to raise money for Prostate Cancer UK.

Kevin was a special guest at Alexandra Palace ahead of the Christmas break, and enjoyed a pre-event walk-on before taking part in a nine-dart challenge on stage - and even met singer & TV presenter Olly Murs!

THE BIG 180 charity partnership between Paddy Power, the PDC and Prostate Cancer UK is aiming to get 180,000 men to check their rise of the disease by using the Prostate Cancer UK online risk-checker.

Of those who have completed the online risk-checker so far, over 50,000 fall into the at-risk category - meaning a huge number of men will now be encouraged to follow-up with a GP.

In addition, Paddy Power are donating £1,000 for every 180 hit during the tournament - with 751 maximums having been landed in the opening 13 days at Ally Pally.

"THE BIG 180 is a great initiative and it was brilliant to get the chance to visit the Paddy Power World Darts Championship myself and see the event," said Kevin.

"What Paddy Power and the PDC are doing is brilliant and this will make such a difference to Prostate Cancer UK - but I'm also urging men to use the online risk-checker; it only takes 30 seconds but could save your life.

"I got to spend a priceless day at the incredible World Darts Championship with my son and best mate - memories we'll all enjoy forever."

Kevin's charity challenges have included running across the Sahara desert and the Arctic, while he recently visited Cambodia for a second time for an ultra marathon through the jungle.

Kevin's story can be read in the "Dead Man Running" book, which is available at Amazon and all good book retailers. His current fundraising page can be seen at this link.
