Mike De Decker and Wessel Nijman became the latest players to confirm their qualification for the 2024 Mr Vegas Grand Slam of Darts over the weekend, with Dave Chisnall and Martin Schindler now also assured of their spots in Wolverhampton.
The prestigious 32-player tournament returns to WV Active Aldersley from November 9-17, as the sport’s biggest names battle it out for the iconic Eric Bristow Trophy.
De Decker will make his second Grand Slam appearance next month, after storming to his maiden televised title in sensational style at the World Grand Prix.
The Belgian enjoyed a dream run to glory in the double-start event, which culminated in an epic 6-4 victory against world number one Luke Humphries on Sunday.
Nijman, meanwhile, secured top spot on the Winmau Development Tour Order of Merit in Wigan last weekend, scooping seven titles throughout 2024 to underline his status as one of the sport’s rising stars.
Reigning Grand Slam winner and World Champion Humphries headlines the confirmed field so far, which also includes 2022 champion Michael Smith and three-time winner Michael van Gerwen.
2023 runner-up Rob Cross will also feature alongside Premier League champion Luke Littler, who will make his highly-anticipated Grand Slam debut in Wolverhampton.
Masters champion Stephen Bunting and UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh have qualified after winning televised events during the qualifying period, with Cross qualifying by virtue of his exploits 12 months ago.
Mensur Suljovic and Rowby-John Rodriguez will also star in the 32-player field, having led Austria to their second World Cup of Darts final back in June.
Elsewhere, Women's World Matchplay champion Beau Greaves has confirmed her qualification along with World Youth Championship runner-up Gian van Veen, who will join his Dutch compatriot Nijman in Wolverhampton.
They will be joined in the coming weeks by the winners of the CDC Continental Cup and the PDC Asian Championship, as well as the Challenge Tour and Women’s Series Order of Merit winners.
The European Championship will provide another opportunity for PDC stars players to seal their qualification through TV events, as a star-studded field compete for silverware in Dortmund later this month.
Following the World Grand Prix, the 24 places in the Grand Slam of Darts reserved for TV event winners, runners-up and additional qualifiers will not now be filled, therefore Chisnall and Schindler will also feature in Wolverhampton following their brace of European Tour successes in 2024.
Additional winners from the 2024 PDC European Tour could also secure places in next month's event, while a further eight players will also come through the PDC Tour Card Holder Qualifier on November 1, where the 32-player field will be finalised.
