The race to qualify for the Machineseeker European Championship will reach its climax at the Gambrinus Czech Darts Open this weekend.
The year’s 13th and final European Tour event will take place at PVA Expo in Prague from October 18-20, as a 48-player field compete for silverware in the Czech capital.
The top 32 players on the European Tour Order of Merit following the event will qualify for this month’s showpiece in Dortmund, which will take place at the Westfalenhalle from October 24-27.
German number one Martin Schindler currently occupies top spot on the European Tour Order of Merit, having claimed success at the International Darts Open and Swiss Darts Trophy in 2024.
Dave Chisnall and Luke Littler – also two-time winners on the European Tour this year – are second and third respectively, with Michael van Gerwen just behind Littler in fourth.
World number one Luke Humphries, two-time European Champion Rob Cross and reigning European Champion Peter Wright also feature in the top ten ahead of this weekend’s cut-off.
World number eight Nathan Aspinall currently occupies the 32nd and final qualification place, with newly crowned World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker two places above Aspinall in 30th.
2023 World Champion Michael Smith is also in the provisional qualification places as he prepares to take on Kevin Doets in his first round tie in Prague with a spot in Dortmund on the line.
Cameron Menzies is Aspinall’s closest challenger heading into Prague, although the Scot has been pitted against countryman and reigning Czech Darts Open champion Wright for a place in round two.
Madars Razma, Brendan Dolan, Callan Rydz and UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh are also outside the provisional qualification places, although all four will be in action this weekend.
