Max Hopp, Bradley Brooks and Shane McGuirk were among the first 16 players to make it through PDC Qualifying Schools First Stage on Monday.
The opening day of the 2025 PDC Qualifying Schools saw First Stage begin in Milton Keynes and Kalkar, with over 800 players competing this week for the chance to become permanent fixtures on the PDC circuit over the next two years.
First Stage, taking place from January 6-8, sees players from across the globe attempting to qualify to compete in the Final Stage, where Tour Cards will be on offer from January 9-12.
Eight players per day will progress from the First Stage at each venue, with all further places going to players from a First Stage Order of Merit in each region.
The opening day of UK Qualifying School in Milton Keynes saw former World Youth Champion Brooks take centre stage at Arena MK, averaging 108, 102 and 107 across the afternoon.
Newly crowned WDF champion McGuirk also averaged 105 on his way to winning through to the Final Stage, where he will be joined by Adam Paxton, Lewis Pride, Peter Burgoyne, Tommy Morris, Jason Wilson and Jack Tweddell.
German star Hopp - a winner of two PDC ranking titles - headlined the eight players to come through Monday’s opening day at European Qualifying School, conceding just four legs in his first five games.
Dutchman Gilbert van der Meijden averaged 101 to book his place in the Final Stage, advancing through alongside his compatriot Jeroen Mioch.
Germany’s Leon Weber, Belgium’s Stefaan Henderyck, Spanish star Jorge Garcia del Pozo, Czech thrower Dalibor Smolik and Croatia’s Tomislav Rosandic also progressed on an action-packed afternoon in Kalkar.
