Beau Greaves claimed her second Winmau Challenge Tour title in as many days to continue her terrific start to 2025 on Saturday.
Greaves kicked off the 2025 Winmau Challenge Tour season with Event One victory in Milton Keynes on Friday, before Carl Sneyd came out on top in Event Two.
However, two-time Women’s World Matchplay champion Greaves returned to winning ways in Saturday’s double-header, producing a string of superb displays to clinch the Event Three crown.
The 21-year-old whitewashed Scotland’s former World Cup champion John Henderson in a one-sided final, averaging 101.55 to become the first woman to win multiple Challenge Tour titles.
Greaves opened her challenge with a whitewash win over Kyle Richardson, before defying a 102 average from Tommy Lishman to win through a high-quality encounter in round two.
After prevailing in another deciding-leg affair, Greaves then swept aside Sweden’s Andreas Harrysson and Luis Camacho, averaging 105.85 in a five-leg blitz of the Portuguese.
The Doncaster darter then saw off Ireland’s John O’Shea in the last eight, and a 99.74 average was enough to demolish Dutch star Jimmy van Schie 5-1 in the semi-finals.
Greaves’ latest triumph saw her establish a £2,575 cushion at the top of the Challenge Tour Order of Merit, although her ten-match winning run was curtailed by Ieuan Halsall in the last 64 of Event Four.
Darius Labanauskas rounded off Saturday’s double-header with Event Four glory, sealed with a battling 5-3 victory over former Premier League runner-up Mervyn King.
Labanauskas – a World Championship quarter-finalist in 2019/20 – reeled off three straight legs from 3-2 adrift to deny King and clinch the £2,500 top prize at Arena MK.
The 48-year-old kicked off his title charge with wins over Irish duo Sean McKeon and Dean Finn Forde, before accounting for Michael Unterbuchner and Trevor Burkhill to reach the last 16.
Labanauskas then edged out Henderson and Adam Mould in deciding-leg ties to set up a semi-final showdown against Ted Evetts, who landed a nine-darter in his last 16 victory over Shane McGuirk.
Evetts’ run was halted by a clinical Labanauskas in the last four, and the Lithuanian then came out on top against King, who won seven straight matches to scoop the £1,000 runner-up prize.
The opening weekend of 2025 Winmau Challenge Tour action concludes with Event Five on Sunday, as 296 players prepare to battle it out at Arena MK.
The top two players from the final 2025 Challenge Tour Order of Merit will secure a PDC Tour Card for 2026/27 and a place in the 2025/26 Paddy Power World Darts Championship.
