Derek Coulson, Tommy Morris, Tommy Lishman and Paul Rowley secured automatic qualification for the 2025 Ladbrokes UK Open after winning through Sunday’s final Amateur Qualifiers in Wigan.
In a change to previous years, qualifying events will be staged in four 'PDC in the Community' venues, alongside two days of standalone Amateur Qualifiers held by the PDC.
The first Amateur Qualifiers were staged in Milton Keynes last month, as Shaun Fox, Graham Usher, Tom Sykes and Graham Hall progressed through a packed field at Arena MK.
Sunday’s double-header at the Robin Park Leisure Centre saw the final two Amateur Qualifiers take place, with Coulson, Morris and Lishman confirming their UK Open debuts.
Three-time UK Open participant Rowley completed the list of eight automatic qualifiers for this year’s showpiece, which will take place from February 28 to March 2 at Butlin’s Minehead Resort.
Coulson and Morris came through Amateur Qualifier Three, with Welsh veteran Coulson defeating former World Championship qualifier Chas Barstow 5-2 to break new ground in his career.
The 56-year-old also saw off Barry Linley, Enrico Chinellato, Dan Outwin and Thomas Cronin on his way to qualification, averaging 107.36 in a stunning whitewash win over Cronin.
Coulson then dispatched former UK Open runner-up Shayne Burgess in the penultimate round of qualification, before landing a brace of ton-plus checkouts in his victory against Barstow.
Morris, meanwhile, breezed through the 203-player field in Wigan, conceding just three legs in his opening four games against Brad Williams, Kevin Burness, Jake Taylor and David Coleman.
The 32-year-old - a landscape gardener by trade – also swept aside Scott Baker and former Lakeside Champion Richie Burnett, before denying Lishman 5-3 to clinch his big stage bow.
However, Lishman went one better in Event Four, averaging 99 to win through a high-quality affair against former Tour Card Holder Scott Taylor in their decisive Event Four showdown.
Lishman also averaged 102 in his quarter-final victory over Patrik Williams, which was preceded by wins against Andrea Micheletti, Michael Bailey, Brad Williams, Shane Turner and Adam Jenkinson.
Rowley was the only former UK Open Qualifier to triumph in Sunday’s qualification double-header, after whitewashing Outwin in their winner-takes-all clash.
The 61-year-old also registered wins over Joe Croft, Mark Crossley, Ste Panther and David Sumner, while edging past David Evans and David Davies in deciding-leg tussles.
There were also a further four places in this year's UK Open allocated to players from an Amateur Qualifiers Points Table, based on performances across all four events.
Dutch star Danny van Trijp headlined the four Order of Merit Qualifiers, with former PDC Tour Card Holder Scott Baker also qualifying alongside Jamie Kelling and Christopher Wickenden.
